Stranger Things: Fifth and final adventure

It’s been 3 years since season 4 of Stranger Things was released in 2022. There’s been a lot of delays and frustrations leading up to this final season. I just rewatched every season in preparation for the final season, which is going to be broken into 3 parts. I believe this may have been my third time rewatching, and it never ceases to amaze me what a cultural phenomenon this show became. Set in the 1980s in the fictional town of Hawkins, Indiana the show follows the lives of four nerdy middle school boys who soon find their world turned upside down (literally). No matter if it has been 3 years since we’ve visited the chaos of Hawkins, I’m still invested in these characters. By the way I still cried my eyes out at the season 4 finale at the fate of Eddie and Max. Season 4=emotionally draining. While I reflect on the masterpiece that is Stranger Things there are some points that I want to touch on. I love the fact that Stranger Things is a mixture of genres. It’s fantasy, sci-fi, and adventure all rolled into this epic show. I recently watched an interview with the Duffer Brothers, who created and wrote a lot of the show. I realized I hadn’t watched a lot of interviews with them and it’s great getting a mirror to their mind and how the show came about. Creative minds like that are so fascinating to me especially since fantasy and adventure are two genres that I love in media. I just love the idea of world building and how you can continuously build as many layers as you want. That’s what makes me a big fan of Harry Potter, The Hunger Games, etc.
